It is a privilege to welcome you to Simon Balle All-through School. Our website is intended to be a window into the highest quality of education that we offer here, and to give you a sense of who we are and our shared vision and values.
We are proud of our all-through school: one school for students from the age of four all the way to eighteen. We are known for our high expectations, first class education and our innovative approach. Our curriculum is broad, and its progressive and sequential nature in every subject ensures that children are inspired and can successfully journey through fourteen years of learning with us. We believe that there is no tension between this academic ambition for all and a holistic education which supports every young person to develop their character and sense of self.

CAREERS - NEXT TERM
Our students have had incredible opportunities this term to explore and prepare for their futures, and even more exciting experiences are planned for next term!
November-December: Year 12 students took part in external interviews, gaining valuable experience in ...presenting themselves professionally. These sessions were an excellent opportunity for them to build confidence and receive feedback from industry professionals.
January: The highly anticipated Year 8 trips to McMullen’s Brewery will begin and run throughout the year. These visits offer an engaging insight into hospitality and the brewing industry, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at how a local business operates.
Year 9 and Year 12 students will also benefit from an RAF Careers Presentation, offering insights into the range of careers available in the Royal Air Force and the skills required to excel in this field.
February: Year 10 students will participate in our annual ELSA (Education, Learning, Skills, and Achievement) Day. A range of employers will visit the school to deliver career-focused workshops and mock interviews, helping students develop key skills and gain a deeper understanding of the workplace.
Year 12 students will also have the chance to attend a Sky Studios Careers Presentation, where they will explore opportunities in media and production, gaining inspiration from industry experts.

SPORTS HALL UPDATE
The construction of the sports hall is progressing at an excellent pace and remains on schedule. The underfloor heating system has been installed, and the screed was poured before the Christmas break to allow sufficient drying time.
Wind catchers and solar panels ...have been fitted onto the roof, enhancing the building’s sustainability and environmental comfort.
Work on the external brickwork has commenced and will continue up to a height of 2.7 metres around the perimeter. The cladding framework has been installed and is ready for the external fascia to be fitted in the new year.
As we move into the beginning of 2025, we will see the building truly start to take shape.
