At Simon Balle All-through School we believe in the equal importance of every subject in our curriculum. Every subject has its foundations in the Early Years, and learning in every subject contributes to students’ ongoing learning in KS3 and beyond. In all subjects, we believe that the curriculum is our progression model – thus assessment takes place through teaching and learning in every unit. Knowledge organisers are one tool which enable us to clarify the core knowledge which we support students to retain – and student voice, over time, supports us to evaluate the impact of the curriculum.
Whilst outcomes are not reported in quantitative figures (as is required in national statutory assessments in the core subjects), the outcomes are as important to each student’s journey through the primary curriculum.
