Welcome to a new academic year. This newsletter is a loud ‘hello‘, as well as a ‘look what happened at the end of last year in Simon Balle Music!’.

Welcome to everyone – those we know, after the summer, and those joining us for the first time. Simon Balle Music is back up and running! Here we go……

If you are new, emails will be coming about lessons, Involve and so on. Ensembles start next week, along with secondary lessons. Larch lessons, the following week. Lets get back into routine, lets get making music, lets welcome those joining us. Lesson charges can be found here.

More information from me is in this podcast below. Do subscribe – I can witter a little more in these.

Later this week we will be introducing our Music Scholars programme. This is an important development as we strive to support each individual musician and recognise their achievements.

Finally, do follow us on Instagram – @simonballemusic We will be celebrating our amazing musicians much more this year – the podcast will give more information on how we are doing this.

Let’s have an amazing musical year, across all phases and musicians that we work with. The photo below is from our tour to Ghent in July (I still pinch myself with the size of the crowd). Yes, Simon Balle Music really is amazing!

Last term we had 121 instrumental exams, all the way from Grade 1 through to Diplomas. It is completely unique for any school to have this number of exams in one term, let alone one school! We are so proud of all our musicians. Please click on this link to see a full list of the amazing results.

For the hundreds who were there, the celebration was amazing. The fabulous concert hall was full, and our musicians from Years 4 – 13 were incredible. The page here has full details and recordings – well worth a visit to celebrate or see what can lie ahead!

Also, at the end of last term, we had our Rock Gig, in the heat. A fabulous evening that was a huge credit to all involved.

Dates for this year can be found on our Music home page, along with links to our T’s+C’s for instrumental lessons, 26/27 charges and more. Do please take time to have a browse. The What’s On page will be updated shortly.

Rehearsal times and teaching weeks are here:

Do take a moment to watch this. From Saffron Hall in July. A huge celebration of Simon Balle Music – our all-through school. Houdini by Dua Lipa, the arrangement from her Albert Hall concert. What a moment!
