The past couple of weeks have been about getting going, creating music, re establishing routines.
In the past few months we have been looking at how we support each musician as an individual – understanding their musical pathway, their aims and their ambitions. This involves having conversations!
Our new Music Scholars programme will be at the heart of this. Every musician becoming a music scholar, knowing what they have to do to become a better musician and knowing what we expect. Most importantly, it is about inspiring all our musicians with our amazing opportunities, especially what they can work towards. If you have Grade 6, 7 or 8 what does this mean, musically?
This is for all our musicians. Over time, I will be talking to each musician about their aims and ambitions. The music team will be supporting each musician to realise what our musicians want to achieve, showing them what they have to do to achieve this.
Music Scholars are about our musicians – their musical pathway. I am so proud to launch this, spend more time talking to our musicians and create more ways to inspire them as part of Team Music.

Simon Balle Alumni Caden, Archie and Ollie have continued their musical journey with their band Autocopy.

Caden, Archie and Ollie were fantastic Rock School musicians during their time at Simon Balle, performing at plenty of Rock Gigs and inspiring younger students. We are excited to follow Autocopy’s musical journey and wish them the best of luck in the future!
