The purpose of the computing curriculum is to create digitally literate pupils who are able to continually develop the skills required to become life-long learners in a constantly changing digital environment. Students will be equipped with knowledge encompassing elements of ICT and computer science which enables them to become active users and creators in an emerging digital economy. The skills that they master with us will enable them to apply computational thinking and digital creativity to a range of real-world problems. The curriculum will provide opportunities for pupils to become resilient learners who can recover from mistakes and effectively solve problems. Students will learn transferable skills that can be applied to legacy subjects to aid and accelerate progress.
Our students will understand a range of ways to use technology safely, respectfully, responsibly and securely, including protecting their online identity and privacy. They will recognise inappropriate content, contact and conduct, and know how to report concerns.
